The Journey – From Letterkenny to Rio

I’m not sure any of us could have predicted that the three Irish steeplechasers would all go inside the Olympic QT in the same race and on Irish soil, but we did and I guess we made a little bit of Irish Athletics history in July 2015.

We owe a lot to Darragh McDaid for bringing us all together for this race, it really was a magic night that resulted in Myself, Michelle and Sara being selected for the World Championships in Beijing and firmly on the road to Rio.

The World Championships 2015 in beijing was the first real taste of what the competition is going to be like in Rio.  A fantastic experience and a great learning curve.

This winter Richard and I have concentrated on building my endurance for a strong last km and I have been working closely with my hurdles coach, Tom Reynolds on my technique over the barriers.
